I see these lists posted all the time, but this one actually offers practical advice and encourages a real examination of finances and a buyer’s ability to financially accommodate real life changes. I’m thinking this means we’ve learned something from the latest crisis. Sure, it’s not as fun as shopping for the biggest, baddest house you can lay your hands on, but neither is eating ramen noodles every day for the rest of your life.

I’ve been trying to find some good ghost stories involving real estate. Today the PD has a list of ghost tours in Cleveland. I’ve taken part of one of these in Philadelphia, and it was super creepy. I for one would love to go on the Monroe Cemetery tour in Ohio City. That place gives me the willies during the day, let alone at night.

Time and time again, I’ve seen a buyer choose one home over another because of the number of bathrooms. It is especially important to have a half bath on the first floor. Lack of one can increase the market time of a home while lowering the purchase price. If you are thinking of putting your home on the market and have always thought of adding another bath, I say go for it. You might not recoup all of your costs, but you will decrease the time your home is on the market, and we all love that, don’t we?
OK, this is one sign of Christmas that CANNOT come too early. I’ve complained (to myself) about the decorations already being sold at Target. But this…this is OK in my book. (But Conway’s is still my favorite).
